I am not
I am not:
I am not the instagram post you scroll past and ignore
I am not the newspaper article you never read
I am not the piece of gum your throw out your window
I am not the person who doesn’t believe in change
I am not the person who gives up without a fight
I am not the person who doesn’t simply give everything my all
I am not the person to be taken for granted
I am not the one to waste my time and energy on things and people that don’t deserve it,
Life is truly too short for that
I am not wanting to follow the basis of my generation
I am not wishing to be sucked in to the era of social media
I am not wanting that to be all people my age focus on?
Because truly, in the long run
No one cares about your instagram, followers, likes, etc.
I am not the one to fall into the trap of caring about those things
But everyone simply does
We all continue to give in
Adults, kids, grandpas, grandmas, teachers, students, teenagers
Why do we seem to care so much about social media?
When it just wastes our time and energy
I am not wanting to be a part of that generation
But the truth is, I am
