Words to hold on to
I will get up
One morning after the next
I won’t give up
Though when I look down
My heart's a mess
I shall weather this storm
Look at it in the eyes
Watch it fade
And dare care to stare back
At the sky
To see the stars be remade
I am afraid
But that’s what makes me fearless
It hurts to hope
But I’ll force myself to hear this
I’ll get better
There’s some way to cure this
Mind numbing affliction
Self hating addiction
Where I feel so deplorable
Stuck with these thoughts so horrible
I’m not in a depression
I have depression
Its not a stupid obsession
Its a symptom of repression
I plan what I can, try my best
But there’s something wrong
A hole in my chest
Can’t understand this feeling I feel
Just be happy
What’s the big deal
Stay focused on what’s real
Don’t steal from yourself
Be brave
Seek help
I have felt such emptiness and seen such darkness
But I will not become it
I’m strong enough
To embark on this journey
Escape
I’ve already done it
Life’s like a walk in the park
Don’t run it
Don’t be afraid to not park
Be far from it
If the days blend and it seems
The blandness will never end
And you’re not sure how to send how you feel
To family friends
Don’t choke up
Rise and ascend
Don’t break just bend
Keep your head and eyes up
You can still mend
Write your thoughts down in a few words
Sum it
Take the steps leave your mark
And when you can finally see the summit
Don’t stand still
Feel paralyzed, freeze or flee from it
For he who dares to try and forgive and see
Must be prepared to live until it kills he
And she who dares shoulder the world on her back
Must be prepared for life to be unfair
Endure pain seething stares and feel some cracks
When the day is done and you feel like you are too
And the nights creep up and you’re not sure what to do
Always remember
If it feels the pain has won
There can never be no hope
Just look at the word hopeless
There can be less but never none.

Wake up every morning and tell yourself that you're going to live that day if its the last thing you do. And that it doesn't make you a narcissist to love yourself. Even if the people around you tell you differently. Or you tell yourself differently at night. Remember that there's always a bright side. And that you don't need eyes to see it. Life's a wonderful ride. But to too many people, its a secret.
