COVID-19

The bright city lights went dark

The once crowded streets turned desolate

The honking of taxi horns

Replaced by the banging of pots and pans through the open windows, on the balconies and fire escapes too

Every night from 6:58-7:04

To honor our health care workers

For risking their lives to save the lives of others

The laughter from the crowds

Replaced by the blaring of sirens on ambulances and police cars alike

Rushing off to the nearest hospital to save someone’s life

The number of deaths soared higher than the skies above

This invisible virus, larger than life more destructive than Satan

Will it ever lose its’ power, its’ destruction

Will the laughter resume?

Will the taxis honk their horns?

Will the light outshine the darkness once again?

COVID-19
