Love Her
Why must I learn to love him as you want me to love him.
Why must I learn to love him when all i want to do is love her.
Her piercing eyes that gaze upon me from across the room, her hair that gently bounces with each step she takes, he smile that makes me melt as we exchange stolen glances.
Why must I learn to love him when all I want to do is love her.
To embrace her and run my fingers through her hair as we watch the new fallen moon.
to hold her tender hand in mine as we walk towards the garden together.
Why must I learn to love him to love him as you want me to love him when everyone bone, every muscle in my body is urging me to approach her and ask her to dance.
I wish nothing more than to love her as much as you want me to love him.
I want nothing more than for us to look into each other’s souls as we have done to no other and slowly lean into each other as if we are opposite ends of a magnet.
Why must I learn to love him when all I want to do is love her.
To give her a gentle kiss on the lips as we say our goodbyes only to meet again tomorrow.
But you want me to love him so I ignore the screaming pleas of my mind and make my way to him and hold out my hand for a dance.
The emptiness inside me growing as the distance between us grows larger and larger until your name is nothing but a ghost, a faint whisper upon my lips.
I wanted nothing more than to love her but you made me love him.
