SILENCE IS BETRAYAL
Like sewn lips, they are quiet
Their voices gone like the memory of last week's dinner
Rights have been taken, but not forgotten
The silence is sickening
They've seized our voices
Crumbled and thrown them to waste
Our eyes, wet like our hair after a wash
But we rise, as a whole
As our king once said, our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter
We shall stand by that
The beating of drums in our ears quicken
As our dreams weaken
But we must not let them win
Not now, not ever
