Everlasting Ripples
A fallen stone in water
A splash, and then it's gone
But a surprise awaits inside
The ripples circle on and on
How many can you count
One and two or three
This leads us to wonder
Where the end will be
A fallen carless phrase in mouth
Soon you might forget
But the little waves are flowing
And suddenly, the ripple circles are set
A heart that has been punctured
A mighty crash of tears you stirred
Disrupted a once happy soul
Where you dropped the unkind word
A fallen act of love in air
Though small can help you smile
And when you do, you pass it on
The ripples circle for a while
Bringing hope and joy and peace
With each, a dashing wave
Till you won’t believe the volume
Of the one kind word you gave
So in this pail that you carry
With your actions you must be clever
One false move can cost an army and...
These ripples, they last forever

This piece is about the ripples effect and how our lives are impacted through it. It is based off of the idea that when a pebble is dropped in water, the ripples are everlasting. This can be juxtaposed to our words and actions toward others.
