Despair

she had it all
but she still wanted more
the need to satisfy her greed
drew her away from her safe haven
yet the moment she stepped foot out of her sanctuary she felt stuck
she flailed her arms,
fighting for her life
grasping onto whatever molecule of air she could
she fought desperately
as she slowly sunk further
further into the depths of despair
every attempt she made
caused her to be chained lower;
and with her last breath
she slowly succumbed
to the tantilizing arms of the end
