Stolen Wings

Let me

Fly

Away

from the chains,

the shackles

That bind me tight

Fly

away from the nets

Casted,

Entangling my feathered wings

Let me soar,

Sail away,

Let the sunbeams find

my eyes

Let me free,

Free from black

tethered ropes,

Ensnared in my own wingbeat

Let me up,

Rising with the wind,

Let me fleet,

flit with the butterflies

Let me away,

No longer held,

Encaged by greedy fingers

Let me go,

Go far

Let the sparkling

dreams of the stars dance

In my heart

Let me go

Go where I want to

Go without you

Go where I came from

Before

Let me cry,

Let the tears of the sky become mine,

Let them rise with the windstorm,

Then let me fly,

Fly

Fly away

From the raindrops

Encumbering

my broken wings

I wrote this piece as a thought to a person, who perhaps feels like they have been captured by the identities of this world, loosing his/her wings to fly. The master of the cage holds them captive, binding the only way out.
