Note
When it’s finally over,
I’ll meet you
at the cafe down the street.
The one we always talk about.
I’ll wait for you,
leaning back on the counter,
breathing in freely
the earthy air.
We’ll no longer just
dream.
We’ll act
and travel
and be us!
Unrestricted
and free.
When it’s finally over,
life will hesitantly reappear.
Festivals and clubs.
Movies and restaurants.
We’ll dance,
loving this newly remembered life.
You’ll laugh,
and I’ll smile.
Both of us worrying a little less about tomorrow.
