The World Within Me
Carefree and unconcerned…
Children,
As though the only worry would be no worries.
Young and immature…
Teenagers,
Easily got away with each and every offence they committed.
Lost and desperate…
Grown-ups,
Worked their ass off to get nothing in the end.
...
This world is of darkness and disappointment,
All those existing inside are,
Parts of what made up that depression,
And deteriorating it.
…
Some are ignorant while others are insightful enough to notice,
Nonetheless,
Neither of them can make a difference,
And break out of it.
Especially when,
All hope seems lost,
And,
All efforts becomes in vain.

Some might say this poem is negative and it means nothing but depression. But, we must acknowledge that only the medicine that tastes bitter is the best cure to pain. Although my poem seems pretty dark, it a reflection of the current society; it works as a bitter medicine, letting people, especially teenagers, know that the world is no fairyland and the society they are about to enter will most likely be ten times worse than they can ever expect.
