Reflection
I sit by my window sill sometimes,
Listening to the tintinnabulating wind chime;
Wondering what the world would be like
without any despair,
Against the breeze of cold air.
A world where happiness bloomed from within
One who's essence trailed the path to heaven.
Someplace thankful for the birds flying by
Someplace where chasing dreams was not always on standby.
Sitting there, still, under the moonlit sky
Takes me back to my childhood days;
A point in time when I lived my life
A point in life when I blissfully smiled.
The future was never my concern
I'd dance all day and dream all night
without wondering if it'll turn out right.
Today
When everything materialistic is the only concern
I want to run, but not behind notability
I want to fly, but not for the luxury
I want to fall, not to misinterpret it as a skydive
I want to live, for the thrill of it, that's why.
Everything I just said emerges to be impossible
We've turned into something very improbable
It's no more as smooth as poetry,
more like fragments of broken jewelry.
I can't define existence anymore
They say it's to breathe
They say it's to enslave
I can't figure out the hypocrisy no more
I merely want to sit, by the trees
With a cup of coffee,
Stay there all night
Wondering if I'll ever get it right.
