The earth of humanity extends for miles and miles, And the only treasure lying underneath,
Is the gift from God.

I am part of the lands,
Like a guard,
By which the gift is protected.

Follow the trail of the water bed,
Drill hundreds of meters underground, Till you find what you seek for,
God’s gift of shiny diamonds.

To the ordinaries,
They see values;
To me,
I see the baby of the world, Born under the ground, Fed by the sky,

And birthed by the mother nature.

This is my poem called “Diamonds”. In this poem, I was able to express many messages and feelings with only a few simple words. It incorporates romanticism and my appreciation and awe of nature. Through this poem, I hope to raise people’s awareness of the importance of environmental protection.
