What you don’t see

The human diary

The pages she keeps of her dreams

Are not nearly as angelic as they seem

You’d think it’s a lie

When she tells you she’s cried

Perfect patterns of tears

Falling gently from her eyes

There is no lie when she tries to be

The happy

Go-lucky

Girl everyone loves

No one knows

Putting on a mask

Putting on a show

Putting on weight in an empty attempt to feel full

But don’t complain to me

When you realize there is no lie in

What you don’t see

This piece is about the efforts made by a girl to hide an eating disorder. The girl on the outside is picture perfect as she sucessfully hides her inabillity to control her eating.
