Unspoken
We were all there
We remember
Yet the words are left
Unspoken
We know what happened
We were there
But the words
Unspoken
A jaunt, a joke
That spoke
The words that should stay
Unspoken
Laughs or
Shocked silence
The words were spoken
Yet soon forgotten
Not by me, not really by them
Once again
Unspoken
There was a time when I could talk
I time where it didn’t hurt to say the words
When it didn’t really matter
Yet once again we swallow words
Leave them
Unspoken
One day maybe they won’t stop in my throat
But for today
And for tomorrow
They stay
Unspoken
