Wishing for Death
Good memories can’t start
Appearing until after someone is dead
Yet we sit there and fight
to keep them alive
when we know it would be better to let them go
because in our most desperate hours
we become selfish and fight for
what we desire because it’ll mean
we can see that person again but then
we realize that person is suffering
they don’t enjoy living anymore
no they’d rather pass on and be
free from the aching in their body
and the restlessness they feel because
they are always gasping for air and when
they finally pass it is painful but we realize
they are in a better place and
no longer suffering
