A tumor got in your brain.

Your personality is not the same.

We know it's not you when you shout then lash out.

We’re here for you without a doubt.

It’s hard to see you filled with anger.

When just a week ago you had the moves like jagger.

We still see you as the man with

The eyes that shine with mischief,

The laugh that never fails to make us smile,

The hands that are ready to reach out to us,

The heart that is big enough to welcome all,

The stories that paint pictures in our heads.

If we could choose from all the grandads in the world,

We would always choose you.

When you that you’re losing your mind,

Don’t worry we know that it's not your call.

We’re always there for the long hall.

We know that behind that vacant look,

There's a very special man that the tumor took.

We’ll hold your hand and make sure your safe,

A sickness won't beat this family, that's no mistake.

You've looked after us your whole life.

Now it's our honor to do just the same for you,

Because we all love you.

The author's comments:

My grandfather recently go diagnosed with a brain tumor and since then he's been a completely different person than we know. I wrote this as a way to tell him that we still love him and care about him even if he doesn't remember us.
