Bench Isolation

I sit on this bench
Alone.
Freezing in the late autumn weather
It’s cold
Cold enough for snow
But no snow comes
No wildlife around, no people
My only company is the leaves and the wind.
Both slowly dying down
Leaving me completely isolated.
I have nothing else to occupy me
I am alone in thought as I stare at the night sky.
I will have company someday
Not today
I will when it is warm.
