GRASSLANDS

November 30, 2020
By Anonymous

The grass is unkempt yet neat

Clovers and weeds mix and mingle between

Tools and toys lay scattered around

A spade stands erect from the dirt

The land lays uneven in more ways than one

Some spots barren with no green at all

Others grow unfettered and defiantly

A patchy wasteland

The desolate land grows untouched

A rampat garden of nature’s desire

A thin tree grows violently

It absorbs all in its wake

At my feet a small dog runs rampant

In moments of calm nipping at branches

Or digging holes simple mindedly

This is my backyard
