My Shooting Star
From what started out as a gift from God
But no one had known it yet, October 15th 1936
A baby girl was born into a family of five
She grew up headstrong and knew what she wanted
The sweetest person you’ll ever meet
A woman and LGBTQ+ activist at the age of 80
She is my shooting star
She married my Great Grandfather
To have many kids who became my Great Aunts and Uncles
My great grandma was a hard working lady
Great Grandpa would always shout from the living room “Patty Anne”
Patty Anne is my shooting star
She knows what she wants and she gets it
She will talk to you on the phone for hours
Talk about how she is lonesome for you and loves you
She always gives the best hugs
She understands things that Grandmas normally don't
Patty Anne is my shooting star
She’ll make you laugh till your stomach hurts
Or talk about the “old” days
She’ll remind you to be thankful
And she always says “you have to understand that..”
She is the definition of ”If there's a will there's a way”
Patty Anne is my shooting star
She will always be my shooting star
