You
Your eyes twinkle with inspiration
Your smile melts the glaciers in my chest
Your heartbeats a drum of hope
Your lungs the breath of life
Your laughter tinkling in my ears, drowning out the despair
Your hands cupping the fountain of love
Your arms holding back the blizzard of my brain
Your fingers tracing the veins of compassion
Your hips swaying to the sound of security
Your legs kicking sand into hatred's face
Your feet making prints in the beach of my memories
Your whole body a temple to the word love
You give me the energy to wake up.
You help me remember to take care of myself.
You give me hugs, kisses, and smiles.
You bring me the sun even in the darkest rain.
You give me an ocean in the middle of a drought.
You give me hope.
You remind me there are good people.
You hold onto me when the dark wins.
You teach me what love truly means.
You make my day brighter without fail.
You hold my fear at bay.
You treasure my heart and efforts.
You give me air to breathe.
You give me strength to be who I am.
You hold my hands up to the fountain of desire.
You make the static of my brain mute
You thaw my frozen tongue
You cool my sweltering temper
You fix my broken eyes
Your voice an orchestra to my ears
You soothe my burned pride
I love you, my sweet
I love you, my starshine
I love you, my bunny
I love you, my dear
I love You

i am a cheesy romantic. I attempted to keep the ode as easy to read as possible while conveying the love i feel for my s/o. I wrote it as if they would find it in their suitcase after they landed in a place far from me. I wanted to get that sense of, “even if i’m not physically there, i’m still there for you.”. My last few lines, the i love yous, are firm reminders that despite their rough past, i still love them.
