Awaken in the morning, for a day predictable as ever

Start the routine that I have been doing forever

Is this what life is? No twists? No Turns?

Do this every day until I get eaten by worms?

As I finish my daily habits, I start out my room

I slept in again so I have no time to gloom

As I rush down the hall and start for the stairs

I am checking my bag to make sure everything is there

Then something happens, that wasn’t expected

I step on something that I could have never detected

My pooch on the third step down taking my weight

I sacrifice myself as I seal my own fate

I fly down the stairs, quickly approaching the ground

So this is how I die? Killed by my own hound?

I look back at my murderer and see his wide grin

I can't believe it! Betrayed by my own kin.

The floor quickly approaches as I brace for death

I come to terms with it, as I take my last breath

All of the things I haven’t done yet! People I haven’t met!

If I live through this, I promise I will live much better yet!

I hit the floor, and roll down the stairs

Then I get up uninjured as my mut at the top glares

I feel embarrassed as I walk out of the door

At least that made my morning less of a bore
