Once you pop you can’t stop,
your device draining you until you drop
like a weed conquering a crop.
You want to stop,
but your feed keeps resetting to the top.
You feel like a braindead zombie
loneliness becoming your new hobby.
You told yourself a few more minutes,
but your brain keeps breaking the limits.
You keep staring
and swearing
and yelling,
your eyes tearing because you’ve stopped caring
for your health.
You are a stone,
inanimate,
sinking.
Your life is impeded by images
showcasing other’s privileges.
You lay like a corpse
saddened with remorse.
Your confidence is like a feather floating in the wind
unable to be pinned.
You hate the way you look,
so much that glancing in the mirror leaves you shook.
You want to end this lifestyle,
but how can you when you are constantly under trial?
Deep inside you know you can’t stop this cycle
because your device has made you social media’s disciple.
