December Night
It is difficult to describe how I felt,
the day you left me
the day you left us
Christmas Eve 'twas the day,
you had packed your bags
and gone away
the faint sounds
came crashing down
me―thinking Santa Claus had come to town
but it was you,
that left me here
alone and fatherless for a year
The games you've missed,
laughs you've skipped,
the party with your favorite dip
And when Christmas comes
once again
you'll be missing next to me
much like Eve, you'll tend to flee
