stuck
stuck on a person
what it feels like to be stuck on a person
is what it feels like to be trapped in quicksand
surrounded by beckoning outstretched limbs and hands to help
the refusal to accept assistance
preferring instead
to slowly be consumed by another
when the utterance of a noise even remotely similar
leaves you shivering
like the lost mutt in search of its imaginary owner
and the worst part is the unknown
because you begin to question whether the person in your mind
ever actually existed
when the sparkling vision of them drifts further from reality
the likeness has faded
and you are stuck on a dream
stuck on a dream
what it feels like to be stuck on a dream

poetry has become my outlet for whatever i cannot bring myself to say. it allows me to slowly process and accept my thoughts rather than pushing them aside.
