I (my eyes glass over as you beckon to me,
drawing me into another apparition
of my mind’s creation.
you wrench at my heartstrings
like the moon tugs at the tides,
and i surrender
into your imaginary embrace,
drowning in my tears of longing.
i choke on words unsaid,
i dwell on memories unmade.
i know it won’t be anything more
than the dreams i envelop myself in
to distract myself from the cavity
inside my soul
the hole ripped away from me
as we parted.
i awake
my dream dissolves into the rising sun
i hope you’ll come
to visit me again)
miss you
