Royal Cathedral
I will never forget what my caretaker Muse had said to me when we first walked into that petite yet grand white cathedral. “Simplicity is all it is. A wise girl like yourself clearly knows that music is the language of life.”
She gently opened the doors to a calm, warm air and an inviting emerald glow from the green stained-glass windows. White cushioned benches lined the sides of the room, creating a narrow aisle down the center to the front of the room. Flowers, leaves and vines decorate the space, leading to the main focus point, the rose-lined grand piano. Black, shiny, clean, fresh and new. A bright red rose pattern was draped along the edges, making it pop out like a lightning flash in a storm.
Muse sat down to play, her cautious fingers embraced every key, a bit of her soul in every note. I of course, danced along, only to pause for a moment when I noticed other characters dancing alongside me. Except they weren’t characters alone, they were shadows. Sharply-dressed shadows as well. They were dressed in tuxedos and frilly dresses, cute and modern hats, and darling leather boots. They danced with one another, singing gently along the walls. We all enjoyed each other’s company. The shadows told their stories, and we all made music together, embracing the magic of the royal cathedral as an alluring, emerald aura surrounded our souls and hearts.
