Sorrow
The lighthouse stands tall on
Her own lone cape
Shining out her light to
The ever-foggy sea,
Guiding lost, lonely ships back
Where there is safety
Where there is joy and love,
Where there is comfort and security.
All while ignoring the silent
Dilemma of her own structure,
Unstable, falling apart piece by piece,
Ready to collapse any second
All the ships depend on her to be
Tall and bright in the darkest nights.
To face her own darkness would break
The pillar she has placed for others.
So she stands tall in the fog,
shining her light as bright as can be,
Denying the hope that, just once,
Someone would shine their light on her.

This is supposed to be a metaphorical example of how I feel with my friends. I'm always giving them advice and helping with their problems, and I don't know how to tell them that I'm hurting myself.
