The Pier

Like a soldier the pier stands tall
Through constant beatings from the waves
It stands in blinding gales and choppy seas
It is no stranger to its fair share of sunrises and sunsets
Shades of orange, blues and purples dance in the sky
Illuminating the dusk sky day in and day out.
A great scene to witness and they are in great supply
The pier stands through it all.
The waves constantly beat the pier
Never ceasing and never slowing
Erosion is no friend of the pier
But at the end of the day it will always be here.
