Cigarettes & Caramels
I remember
the smell of
cigarette smoke and
the taste of
bittersweet caramels
As we waited for a bus that
left you behind
when i saw you again
apart of you disapered
you began to burn and melt away
like the
cigarettes and bittersweet caramels
I know we would never share again

My grandma got sick when I was younger. One of few memories I have of her is when she would give me caramels while she smoke a cigarette, and wait for the school bus with me.
