Favorite Quote:
But without the dark, we'd never see the stars.

My God

As if walking from a deep sleep

I looked at him without seeing him

Our brains a whirlwind of decaying memories

The face of a stranger

Even I did not believe him

The image I have of him

A faceless shape, filled me with terror.

By now it was Night

I moved like a sleepwalker

Where is merciful God? Where is he?

When death could strike at any time

For God’s sake, Where is God?

I have more faith in Hitler

Nothing mattered to me anymore

Why did I live? Why did I breathe?

Our eyes opened. Too late.

Lines taken from Night by Elie Wiesel

The author's comments:

This is a found poem, it is where you take random quotes from a book and put them together to make a poem. I made my poem from the book Night by Elie Weisel, it is about a boy who tells his story of surviving the Holocaust. My poem is about how Elie loses his faith in God afer everything hes been through.
