Black and Gold
The night chilled lungs
Breathed the icicles
In sharp air
Crackling the stadium
Lights illuminating
Her white skin.
Liquid poison dripped her lips
She gasped, broke out
Deafening cries,
Creeping the wind
Howling, the wint.
Shards of glass pierced rubber
Soles of players' cleats
Stomped, stampeded fury
Into broken, chewed up
Ground with sweat and
Red drops of life.
The rocket launched deep
Orbiting the navy sky
Spiraling speeds
Losing sight,
One singular moment.
Your priceless paper
In your pocket, and
The top of the silver prism,
Not a pigskin, but
Silver too.
Metal feels cold
hearts are warm,
Passed the
Players for a
Game of two.
