Collapsing and Releasing

As they’re breaking down,

Tears fill their eyes 

They start out one by one and then two by two. 

Suddenly, they multiply exponentially until there are no tears left. 


Finally starting to let go,

Their frail hearts break

They start out with one little fracture then they shatter completely.

Like a vase bursting and crashing in an earthquake. 


The screams and sighs of relief 

are like a 50 pound dumbbell lifted off of their chest. 

Finally being able to breath again.
