Rain
I often wonder about the markers on my desk
Sprawled about and colorful
A disorganized rainbow
Of reds and greens
Blues about to fall off the desk
And a marker case that should be holding them
But no one cares about the markers on the desk
Until they actually need them
Then the markers on the desk become
Writing tools
Important art supplies
Colorful and unique
On the desk
When they are done with the important markers
They drop them back on the desk, and the markers become just markers on the desk again.
Unimportant
Messy
Unneeded
Then I think that the markers on the desk were just fine with how they were.
Before they were important.

I intend for this to be about how some people will only use you for their personal gain, then toss you away, making you think you're not imporant, or worthy of having good things. This isn't true. You are important, and you do deserve good things. Sometimes, when we think that those people were good for us, the reality is that we were better before they came along.
