Pure
Pure
By: Yesenia Ramirez
In a sea of people
there is a single glimmering aura
that amuses me
The purest soul I’ve ever seen
that shines brighter than any other
Even their footsteps leave a trail of glitter
Without them knowing,
Completely unaware of the world around them
The world that is filled with shades of noir
I use to see the world in shades of noir
because that’s all I focused on
And the more I just focused on the noir of the world
It slowly turned to be the abyss of the world for me
One day the pure soul walked through the abyss
There was no evidence of the abyss on their clothing
But what I realized,
a trail of colors was left
The soul was erasing the abyss from my world
without them knowing it
They made my world brighter ever since that day
I felt as if my eyes were opened
If it wasn’t for them I honestly don’t know where I’d be
I’d probably be still in the abyss
Probably still seeing the world in noir
Instead of seeing the beautiful colors of the world
This pure soul introduced a new world to my color-blind eyes
They gave me shades of colors that I’ve never seen before
Even when I used to see color
I’ve never seen the shades that I see now
Every day the soul walks in peace
still clearing what is left of my abyss
I don’t know if I’ll ever get to thank that pure soul
for all they have done
