Disguises
They wear disguises
Hiding behind masks
They fool us by doing simple tasks
Underneath they’re gross
But you go to their dinner parties and make a toast
They laugh and cry but in reality, their feelings are dry
They ask you questions and continue to pry, which leaves you wondering why
They keep their secrets hidden
And their lives are forbidden
They pick and choose what emotions to use
They make you feel bad for them, even when they’re not in the blues
Used and abused
Crying and confused
I think I know now
It left me saying wow
Don’t fall for the lie
They’ll make you want to die
The cause of people’s demises
They wear disguises

I often encounter plastic people who talk to me with one face and about me with another. This is a poem of those monsters under their disguises.
