What It’s Like To Be A Child of Divorce
You’ll live out of a bag until you turn 18.
You’ll be pushed aside when it comes to the custodial battle because why would you ever have a say in it.
Don’t even try to plan an outfit out because you’ll be disappointed when that one shirt is at the other house.
You’ll never have all of your clothes and shoes together,
So you mix & match until you find something that works.
You’ll continuously be hearing “things will get better” or “we’ll get through this”.
You’ll put that one kind of face on when you leave your house.
“Which house are you at?”
“Dad’s.”
You’ll feel guilty leaving one parent’s house to go to the other.
You live out of a bag.
Carried around, and you don’t exactly get to decide where you’ll be carried.
