Travo-Burger Drive Inn
The aroma of greasy hamburgers
And salty french fries
Stain my awkward uniform
As I wait for the clock to strike twelve
And a line filled with indecisive people
Spread across the checkered tile floor
To order from our “Atomic Menu”
Frappes and Saturn onion rings
In bold red letters grasping for attention
And awakening appetites
Variety of fountain sodas
leading to a hard conclusion
And the same 1950’s hit songs
Playing on a loop over and over
The sound of the bell rings
And the murmur of hungry customers
Brings me back to focus
And the lunch rush has started
