Hi Mom
Hi Mom
Driving down a curvy road, definitely not doing the speed limit
Music is blaring, the car drifting over the lines some, but not enough
I take in the beautiful fall scenery around me as I grip the wheel
I don’t have a care in the world
As I am driving, the day becomes darker
The curves more dangerous
become
The music is loud, drowning out everything else
I am almost home, to surprise my family.
I pull out my phone to see if my mom has messaged me
She did.
Hi Bay
Something darts out at me.
I lose my grip on the wheel
The car spinning out of control
Finally hitting a tree
Everything comes to a dead stop
I can’t feel anything
It’s pitch black
All I can see is the prominent screen on my phone
Hi mom
