Humans are Human
Humans are Humans.
What are you, Autistic?
You’re a SpEd.
God you’re so retarded.
What it has come to
Words that role off the tongue so easily
My heart hurts for the people who don't think twice
The cruelness that people laugh at,
Is it really that funny?
Making fun of someone because they're different.
Fingers pointed while jokes being made
Fulfilling the attention of those who crave it
Knowing nothing about who they are as a person
The loving girl who has an extra chromosome or
The never-ending happiness that beams from a boy
Born with a disorder affecting communication and interactment.
Doing everything open minded
With a smile and no complaints
Blessing the world with the joyousness that is presented.
They have done nothing to you
Yet, the words still seem to escape your mouth.
Hurting those who share the most love.
Humans are human.

I am such a big part in the unified program at my school but I am also a huge part in activities with the school itself. I hear name callings and certain things said about kids with special needs that is hurtful. I wrote this poem hoping that people will think more about what they say, before saying it.
