Favorite Quote:
Some people walk in the rain, others just get wet.

Try all you like, are you truly joyous?
love with your head, it's not really love
Fake it all you want, I see through you,
Your happiness
Is gone.

Stolen by my fathers, over years of pain
Ripping the seam of fabric between family
Evil, evil people
to take an infant's joy away.

Yet they cannot fix what they have broken
so you will live out the rest of your life
with that dull ache in your heart
that comes from being cracked.

I feel for you, but my tears won't help
they never have
they never will

What's done is done,
It can't be fixed.

There isn't a shop that can mend your broken heart.

The author's comments:

I have recently been trying to educate myself about the stolen generation. The stolen generation was a truly horrific time in Australian history. It started in 1910, and ended in 1970. The stolen generation is the name for an event that happened because of the 'White Australia' policy. It meant that Aboriginal children could be taken away from their families and re-homed with white families, got to church, speak only English and forget their heritage. It was a devastating event that ripped apart families and caused much pain and sorrow to the indigenous community of Australia.
