My Autumn
Falling for him was as easy as falling into Autumn.
What’s wrong with sinking into a cup of tea,
warmth radiating through your body,
captivated as you sip,
Admiring golden leaves and crackling fires,
The beautiful outline of a newly browned leaf in his eyes.
My autumn was divine , but just like everyone else
I tend to forget that within this season of comforting sweaters and
Cups of tea, everything was d y i n g.
Day after day, death was shown to me in the form of a maple tree, alluding to its own demise as leaves
Fell, and the tree collapsed.
I watched as everything behind those eyes became empty and emotionless.
And it’s morbid, it really is, that a daughter of sunshine would fall
For the boy of chilly winds and first frosts
Just waiting to blow out her fire.

"You make me feel like a teenager in loveeee." Those lyrics belong to a song on my Spotify playlist, and, believe me when I tell you, they are one hundred percent inaccurate. We all claim to fall in love as we scurry through our busy high school lives, over and over again and generally with the wrong person. I continue to fall for a boy who gave up fighting for me a long time ago and yet here I am, summer waiting for fall to look back and slow down for me. So who knows if we're really in love or if we're just as naive as our parents think, but while you all try to answer that I'm going to go stare Autumn in the face and fall in love some more. Toodles.
