Green Oak Trees

Three kids bike on the street in front of me.
I am sitting on my porch,
large brick pillars beside me,
towering over the street.
Two cars sit in the driveway,
Twins.
Two glimmering beasts:
Fire and ice, red and blue.
Shiny in the September sunlight.
A breath of fresh air.
I feel calm,
Relaxed,
On this September day.
I walk down the block,
green oak trees towering over me,
like the pillars I once sat at.
