We wander this useless waste

The land our ancestors erased

Ugly and marked, Completely barefaced

What happened so long ago

something nobody shall forgo

Now we live among Plateaus

Nowhere to go but we shall live on

Freakish mutants, No longer uncommon

Teaching us to toughen

Some went into hiding

Others know not the hand they are bitting

While others are slowly blinding

No matter should anyone read this poem

The future is here and its unknowns

This wasteland is

our home

I wrote this for the apocalyptic wastelands of a game I have recently been playing, however I find it interesting we could end up the same should be heedless.
