Sunflower
Sunflowers still grow at night.
You might feel left behind.
For your joy you must fight.
You feel hopeless and lost.
In a tunnel with no light.
Sunflowers still grow at night.
You want to change your own self image
Of which you despise so much.
But the beauty everyone sees in you
You just can't seem to clutch.
Sunflowers still grow at night.
You feel you had to grow up too fast.
You struggle to be an adult.
Your childhood didn’t last.
Is it really the world’s fault?
Sunflowers still grow at night.
Times may be hard,
And every day may be filled with fright.
But this won’t last forever.
Through all of this you must remember…
Sunflowers still grow at night.
Your loved ones will help guide you day to day. You won't feel so alone.
You will stop comparing yourself to others. In your own skin you will feel at home.
You learned to be independent and strong. Life isn’t all work and no play.
And dawn will come to you, sunflower. You just need your sun.
Sunflowers still grow at night.

I wanted to show problems that teens often face nowadays and show people that no matter what their facing, it will get better. I was inspired by the song lyric "sunflowers still grow at night"and decided I would base a poem around it.
