Music is my escape.

All kinds of music speak to me

whether it be soulful or rap, 

music continues to be my escape. 

Music made a home in me, 

so I made it my door to a new world. 

Marching band is a great release,

the feeling before performing is indescribable.

Music is like a therapist, 

it acts as a listener.

Music speaks so many words, 

it’s a dictionary.

When I play my drums, anger disperses.

When I play my bassoon, my problems go away.

Music will always be my escape.

I hope to one day

be a voice for the outspoken.

Give them a creative passage, 

a passage to release self-expression. 

My life would be much different without music.

I would still be angry,

I would still be lost,

yet to be found. 

I encourage you to release your inner turmoil,

use music as an escape.
