Where

I am from a home

on top of a hill,

a secluded place surrounded by the oaks.

Hear the chirp as a reminder to not be living dead.

I am from a home that quiets when left empty,

but a place overly crammed when full.

What

I am from nature of holding in feelings,

like stuffing a mouth of food until it chokes of frustration.

All of what was once thought then spilled out at once.

I am from a place of going rouge,

until you meet a dead end you can’t reverse out of.

Thats the point of which you ask for help,

coming to answer a question of only one’s expertise.

When

I’m from a time where new things were the only things.

Someone, somewhere, wants something new.

A  time of change from aged traditions to the modern world.

A rewritten childhood.

I’m from a time where making discoveries of nature,

was turned to making findings of the new.

These times were of a new era,

one of iPods, iPhones, and iPads taking over.

Rather than wondering at outer space,

we starred cyberspace in the face and thought,

what else?

Why

I’m from a point of understanding,

attempting to figure out why.

What was the purpose of my creation?

Aim to seek what I was meant to do,

and how I might make my stand.

How I could create my foot print in the world.

Sitting on a dry plain, like a lazy lying lion, wondering.

But perhaps too young to uncover.

This poem is about some of the stages of my life: where, when, why, what. These stages help describe where I am from.
