When The Rain Comes
Rain drizzling down your windows,
Watching the droplets race as they hit.
You are able to smell it before the storm blows,
Falling asleep to the sound.
Watching rom coms within the rain kisses,
How you’d dance in it and smile,
Pushing all your problems away.
How when you’d walk in the house with wet clothes,
The cold would surge through you.
You are aware of when the rain came,
Most of the time thunder and lightning would follow,
You’d wait for the house to shake.
For your pets to come to your side,
In their most vulnerable state.
The electricity would go out,
Your phones would disappear,
And you’d go play in the dark.
Hide and seek, tag, kick the can,
With friends, and family.
You come together in the rain.
Laughter echoing around the room,
Imaginations coming alive,
Running wild in the same vein as children.

Paragraph Reflection:
I chose to do a poem about rain because I’ve always been fascinated with it, and the movie ‘Singing In The Rain’. I’ve also noticed in movies that in a dramatic kiss scene it always ends up in the rain, and I know a few people who would love to do that. I took this poem from when we had to write a small 100 to 200 word story and then turn it into a story, it was called an Encyclopedia of Entries. I want my readers to go back in time, I know a lot of people are scared of rain but I want them to view it better and the fun you can have in it. Thunder and lightning are scary sometimes but you always have a friend or family member you can lean on and connect with, it’s a time of communication face to face instead of through phones and other electronics.
