Crash
For me it was a regular day,
A fresh shave and my favorite outfit.
A black polo and white shorts
When I pulled out of the driveway
I had no idea it would be the last time,
that my beloved FJ would be home again.
the details are trivial,
all that mattered was that my life was forever affected.
I'm referring to getting in a car accident.
Not just running over a mailbox
Or bumping into a parked car,
I mean the real deal.
A deal that would seal the fate of my first car
It happened so fast,
The bang and the smash
Of what was a terrific and horrific crash.
Time stopped but quickly moved on,
I stumbled back into reality
In utter disbelief of what happened.
I can't express how thankful I am
that no one was hurt,
But my FJ Cruiser is no more.
Since then I have never seen the road,
in the same light I did before that day
If you take one thing from this poem,
Please drive as cautiously as you can.

This is a quick poem I am turning in for a creative writing project that is about a time I got in a car accident, thanks for reading.
