Flipping Burgers
I am from a life full of smiles and memorable mornings.
From good night hugs, raised to work hard.
From Coco and Abraham who bring joy to our lives.
John and Pamela teaching their children perseverance.
I am from flipping butter burgers,
to stocking shelves at Walmart.
From hanging with friends to working on cars...
To learning to become independent and strong.
I am from a lending hand… helpful and happy.
Lying under the stars we listen to the crackling bonfire.
From telling deep dark secrets while catching a late night movie,
to hanging with friends at Mayfair mall.
I am from physical pain from pushing myself
Having intense curiosity, needing to know why.
But most of all, where I am from
are people who care, love and accept me for who I am.
