I am from camouflage,
cardboard boxes, moving trucks,
broken friendships, and new ones.
I can’t say I am from anywhere,
I’ve lived in
five different states,
six cities,
been to seven schools.
Every three years it's all the same,
pack up and move out,
saying goodbye to people I hope to see again,
but never do.
I am from an empty household,
With the hope my father comes back safe and sound.
Half, of my life my father has been overseas,
Whole, the feeling of when he comes back.
